Michael Ornes, MD
Medical Education Director
Dr. Ornes has been an elected member of Abbott Northwestern Hospitalist Executive Council since 2014 and is currently the Medical Education Director. He is involved with resident and student teaching and is an associate program director for the ANW Internal Medicine Residency. He is a member of the Vascular Peer Review Committee.
Experience
Dr. Ornes completed his internal medicine residency in 2000 here at ANW and, after completing a chief residency year, has been a hospitalist since 2001.

Interests
Dr. Ornes’ interests include practicing and teaching the science and art of medicine. He has been involved in teaching bedside ultrasound as an extension of the traditional physical exam. In his time away from work, Dr. Ornes enjoys spending time with his family, being in the mountains in the summer and winter, and finding new adventures both locally and afar.
