Visitor Policy A new visitor policy will go into effect Monday (6/29). We have been in a policy of no visitors since March. No one has been happy with that and I appreciate the negative effect it has had on patients’ comfort and recovery. We required no visitors because of severe shortage of PPE early in the spring and a responsibility to not spread the virus within and outside the hospital. Now that PPE is in better supply, most patients will be allowed one visitor per day. COVID positive patients will still be on a no-visitor requirement, but with compassionate exceptions. Because of the congregate setting on mental health units, there will also be no visitors on adult mental health units. I am really encouraged about this change. Other metro hospitals are making similar changes.
